About Petsy's Pals

Welcome to Petsy's Pals! Based in lovely Peterborough, we're passionate about providing caring, reliable dog walking and pop-in visits tailored to your dog's individual needs.

We know every dog is different. Some love exploring with a walking buddy, while others feel more comfortable enjoying their own space. Whether your dog is confident and sociable, a little shy or nervous, a playful puppy or a gentle senior, we believe they deserve care that makes them feel safe, happy and understood.

Our services include solo dog walks, small buddy walks with just 2–4 dogs, and pop-in visits for puppies from 8 weeks old, as well as adult and elderly dogs who need a little extra care at home.

We're fully insured and DBS checked, giving you added peace of mind when trusting us with your beloved companion. At Petsy's Pals, your dog isn't just another booking — they're part of the family.

FAQ

How do you handle keys and home access?

We understand how important your home's security is. We can be a key holder for you, and any keys we hold are kept safe and labelled only with your pet's name.

Our preference is for you to have a secure key safe, allowing us to access the key using a code when collecting or returning your dog or carrying out a pop-in visit.

You don't necessarily need to be home, as long as we've agreed access arrangements in advance. We'll discuss the best arrangements with you during the free meet and greet.

What adjustments do you make during the seasons?

Autumn and winter
Our usual working hours are 8am–3:30pm. Please leave out any coats, raincoats, cooling coats, body warmers, fleeces, drying robes or towels your dog may need. This helps us keep your dog comfortable when collecting and returning them.

Spring and summer
We adjust our walks according to the weather, particularly when temperatures are forecast to exceed 25°C.

We carry water and choose shady routes or woodland areas wherever possible to help keep dogs cool.

During periods of extreme heat, we schedule walks between 5am and 9:30am, when temperatures are cooler.

Between 11:30am and 3pm during extreme heat, we offer pop-in visits instead. These can include letting your dog out into the garden for a toilet break, playtime and games, and refreshing their food and water as needed.

When temperatures are more comfortable, our usual working hours apply.

Our priority is always your dog's comfort and wellbeing.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice when cancelling a single walk.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled walk will be charged in full, unless we're able to fill the slot with another booking.

What equipment should I provide for my dog?

Owners are responsible for providing a suitable, well-fitting harness, collar, lead and dog ID tag for their dog.

Please ensure your dog's ID tag displays your most up-to-date contact details.

Any items your dog may need should be left somewhere easy to find before their walk or visit. These may include a cooling coat, raincoat, body warmer, fleece, drying robe or towels.

We carry spare standard leads in case one is needed, but we do not carry spare harnesses or collars. Please ensure your dog's usual walking equipment is available.

How do payments work?

Payment is required in advance of your booked walks or pop-in visits.

We accept cash, debit card, credit card and bank transfer.

We do not add any card transaction fee or surcharge.

Do you offer one-off walks or pop-in visits?

At Petsy's Pals, we offer regular, recurring bookings so we can get to know your dog and provide consistent care that fits into their routine.

Whether you're looking for a walk or pop-in visit once a week, twice a week or every weekday, we can discuss a regular schedule that suits your needs and our availability.

We don't offer occasional or one-off bookings, as we focus on building lasting relationships with our dogs and their owners.

How do I arrange regular walks or pop-in visits?

The first step is to get in touch and arrange your free meet and greet. During this meeting, we'll get to know you and your dog, discuss your requirements and agree on suitable regular days and timeframes.

We understand that some owners work shifts or have changing schedules, and we're happy to discuss more flexible arrangements where possible. These will depend on our availability.
